Kennedy “Che” Mitchell, 14, Female Player of the Month!
Che is an 8th grader at Alta Sierra Intermediate where she played for their 8th Grade Girls Soccer team. Che plays her club soccer with California Odyssey, and her position is goalkeeper. This month and season she has grown a lot as a person as well as a player. This personal growth has helped her focus on her game and gain a lot of confidence. As a goalkeeper, confidence is a key component. Che is consistently one of the hardest working players at every training session, and has become an example for other players to follow. Not only does she dedicate herself to soccer, but she excels in the classroom. Che has maintained a 4.0 GPA! Somewhere between all of her trainings and homework, Che still finds time to serve in her community. She volunteers at the Poverello house with her church group. Another area that Che helps her community is by donating gently used clothing and sporting goods to Catholic Charities. Her latest involvement in the community was attending the groundbreaking for the Children’s Hospital in Fowler, where she will be volunteering when it opens! The staff at HPA are proud of the example she is setting for her peers. We cannot wait to see her continue to grow as a person, student-athlete, and goalkeeper!
